{"id":8188,"date":"2025-08-26T16:39:30","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T16:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/c4dev.org\/membres_de_com4dev\/gilles-mersadier\/"},"modified":"2026-06-09T12:13:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T12:13:23","slug":"gilles-mersadier","status":"publish","type":"membres_de_com4dev","link":"https:\/\/c4dev.org\/en\/membres_de_com4dev\/gilles-mersadier\/","title":{"rendered":"Gilles Mersadier"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After training in political science and then in rural development geography, Gilles&#8217; first experience was in Burkina Faso, working on a multi-disciplinary research program for the IRD (ex-ORTOM).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He then worked as a consultant implementing various phases of rural development projects in a dozen West and Central African countries (identification, management, monitoring-evaluation and capitalization).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By listening to African rural support organizations in general &#8211; and farmers&#8217; organizations in particular &#8211; Gilles has become aware of the challenges they face in managing information and communication, in order to capitalize on their experience &#8211; disseminate information &#8211; access scientific, technical and economic knowledge, and participate in development policies. For the past 15 years, he has been particularly involved in these areas, through network projects and communities of practice, to strengthen African civil society organizations. In this context, he has worked in particular with Inter-R\u00e9seaux, CTA, IFAD (FIDAfrique network), the World Bank and the FAO.
